Originally developed for the aerospace industry, UltimumTi
is three times stronger than the conventional titanium
and two times more resilient than ordinary graphite
fibers. In medical science, it's an ideal material for
replacing human joint structure and helping athletes
bounce back into action. In sports play and out, UltimumTi
delivers the large responsive energy and full-energy
transfer characteristics that fulfill the "wish

Development of the Yonex UltimumTi composite tennis
racquet is "world first". This powerful nickel-titanium
alloy is used exclusively by Yonex to ensure that the
shaft of its entire line-up of UltimumTi racquets snap
back on impact with super-high repulsion, transferring
full power from the racquet to the ball. Tests demonstrate
that the energy transfer is so efficient, it gives 5%
more head velocity on impact. No other material rivals
its devastating speed for the stroke effort. No other
material is better suited to answer the demands of today's
power tennis age.
So advanced it remembers its original shape.
A split second after impact, Yonex UltimumTi is back
to its original shape. No ordinary metal matches its
laser-quick ability to stretch then snap back to its
original shape. That's because no ordinary metal alloying
technology achieves the 200-micron structure of UltimumTi
fiber. Hold a fiber and pull. It stretches miraculously.
Release one end and the fiber snaps back to its original
shape without any loss of its formidable power.

High-density Titanium Mesh fibers molded into layers
of high-density graphite make the racquets more stable.
This combination prevents twisting at impact and provides
proper balance for faster head speed.

Titanium Mesh scientifically enhances the effective
hitting area of the head frame. The Titanium Mesh fibers
strategically molded into the frame at the three and
nine o'clock positions create a dynamic weight system
for outstanding playability. This engineered design
provides greater stability and control of off-center
shots, so it's much more forgiving than a conventional
racquet.
Isometric
This exclusive Yonex innovation results in a sweet spot
up to 48% larger than a traditional oval head shape.
It ensures more power and control with fewer off-center
shots. The secret is the consistent length and frequency
of vibration in the primary main and cross strings.
Careful evaluation and research by our engineers solved
the problem of enlarging a racquet's sweet spot by altering
the geometry of the racquet itself. They designed the
first isometric or square tennis racquet head. In high
speed volleying situations, the isometric head shape
allows solid, consistent volleys to be hit from a broader
area of the racquet with greater control.
